Embroidery

Central to Jaipur's embroidery are techniques like Zardozi, Gota Patti, and Aari. Zardozi, an ancient form of embroidery using gold and silver threads, is famed for its opulent and intricate designs.

Gota Patti, another traditional technique, involves using small pieces of zari ribbon to create elaborate patterns, often used in ceremonial attire. Aari work, characterized by fine threadwork using a hooked needle, is known for its delicate and precise patterns.

Materials used in Jaipur's embroidery are as varied as its techniques. Silk, cotton, and velvet serve as common bases, adorned with threads of gold, silver, and silk. Embellishments with beads, sequins, and precious stones add to the richness of the embroidery, creating pieces that are both ornamental and symbolic.
